The view of Taal Lake at the Picnic Grove, Tagaytay City
After visiting the Crosswinds in Tagaytay where we had experienced a lush of nature, pine trees, Swiss inspired architecture and Christmas houses; we visited next the Picnic Grove. It is one of the most popular Tagaytay tourist attractions where there are so much activities to enjoy such as horseback riding, picnicking, riding a zipline and buying pasalubong.

Jeff’s Pancit Batil Patong and Nueva Vizcaya’s G&B; Buko Pie are the Best!

Jeff's Pancit Batil Patong as pasalubong
We only spent two days and one night in Aparri, Cagayan. After that Aparri leg of our Cagayan motorcycle diaries, we headed back to Tuguegarao just in time for dinner. It will be the last time I will spend my Cagayan time with my friend and colleague because tomorrow is another day, and that another day will be spent again in the longest ride from Tuguegarao to Villasis (Pangasinan), then Pangasinan to Tarlac. It’s time to go home. But save the best for last truly!

Tuguegarao Breakfast: Dodie’s Pansit Batil Patung

Taste the complex noodle dish--pansit batil patung in Cagayan
The curiosity of my mind drove me to this far end province in the Philippines. Unlike the other places that I have already visited such as the golden beach in Pangasinan or the quietness of Camotes Island in Cebu where the tourist destinations pushed me through, it was the food—that famous noodle dish, pansit batil patung that made me crave for it and visit Cagayan and its capital city of Tuguegarao.

Laoag and That Version of Ilocos Empanada

Ilocos Norte Capitol in Laoag City

The City of Laoag in Ilocos Norte is one of the northernmost cities in the country and the fact that it stays the same the way it was before (it looks like Vigan less the famous Calle Crisologo and the other popular museums), the place has its own charm, and if only we have time to explore this place, we would have done it. Screw this one-day Ilocos trip, I swear, but at least we landed on one of the bustling regions in Northern Luzon.
