Bury Your Bitter Past in the Lost Cemetery of Negativism, Baguio

The Lost Cemetery of Negativism inside Camp John Hay, Baguio City
When you visit Baguio City, one of the usual spots is Camp John Hay. Surprisingly, many of us do not know that there is one becoming popular tourist attraction here which is kinda weird and unique at the same time since it is a cemetery, or a memorial park. But dead people are absent here, only the bitter past of everyone who dared to bury it in the Lost Cemetery of Negativism.

Strolling the Road to Ayala Technohub in Camp John Hay, Baguio

At the Ayala Technohub in Camp John Hay, Baguio City

Me and my friend enjoyed the cool morning in Baguio by just sipping some coffee, eating noodles and watching TV. It was a lazy morning after all, since we had an unplanned night tour that made us all awake until midnight of the previous day. Here I was in Loakan. We decided to do our tour in the afternoon and the best bet is to go to Camp John Hay. We met a friend in another house and did some fun chats and those undying “how’s life now” thing.

Swiss Architecture and Pine Trees in Tagaytay Crosswinds

Feel the pine trees and Swiss architecture inside Crosswinds in Tagaytay City
It was pretreat before summer time that our team visited one of the most popular tourist towns in the country—Tagaytay. It is the second most popular hill station after Baguio City and most people and yuppies from Manila do a short weekend trip in this city because of its proximity to the nation’s capital. Tagaytay City has still the charms.

One Summer Breakfast at Plaza Salcedo, Vigan City

The past can be a mirror of the present. Photo @ Plaza Salcedo, Vigan City.

It all started one summer day in April 2013. I and my mom were excited for the nth time to visit Ilocos, but first time to see the windmills. The night before it, we went to the meeting place where our bus was supposed to fetch us and after a long seven-hour trip that seem so endless, at last, we arrived in the heart of Ilocos Sur—Vigan.

Shout Your Dreams to Echo Valley, Sagada

Me in the Echo Valley of Sagada, Mountain Province.

Hello (hello, hello). Is there anybody out there (there, there)?

A bit of graveyard related history, we walked all the way down to the Echo Valley. When someone is reaching the up-close hanging coffins, he has to go first at the back of the church, follow the sign that goes to the mountain vale, reach the tombs, and follow the path at the back of the tombstones. Yes, this part of the Sagada travel series deals with words like “church”, “dead”, “tombs”, “coffins” and “hang”.

The Magic Stays in Enchanted Kingdom, Laguna

Meet the mascot and rest of the magical enchantment of Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna.

The Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is one of the pioneering theme amusement parks in the Philippines. It boasts off several cool and thrill rides that people will enjoy out of getting away from their day-to-day work. It’s my time’s favorite theme park ever and out of the several exciting and enchanting rides, my top picked nerve-racking adventures were the Rio Grande Rapids (you will really get wet!), the Space Shuttle (loop and the upside down coaster) and one of its latest addition: the EKstreme Tower Experience (get a drop from about 150 feet free fall!). Well, it’s really the most fun park after all…not until Resorts World Bayshore and ABS-CBN finish their “Escape” theme park.

Lake Danao Park: Kayaking in Camotes

Kayaking in Camotes is the best part of Lake Danao.

Lake Danao Park is one of the gateway parks in Camotes to seeing the biggest lake in the island which is Lake Danao. In this park you will feel the ambiance of a nature within the range of a water body bordered with tree-covered hills and mountains. It is a place where lost people can go to find inner peace and resurrect their souls. In Lake Danao you can go kayaking in Camotes, ride a “sakanaw” or just do your best jump shot with a picturesque backdrop. When you go to Camotes in Cebu province, don’t forget to see and enjoy what Lake Danao Park offers.

Baguio’s The Mansion and Wright Park

The mirror lake at the Mansion.

The Mansion House, or simply The Mansion, is a popular tourist destination in Baguio because of its historical roots in the past. It was built by William Cameron Forbes according to the design by William Parsons in 1908, as a part of the bigger Burnham Plan of Baguio and the City Beautiful Movement. It was devastated in 1945 and was rehabilitated two years after. Now, Baguio’s The Mansion is a rest house of the President of the Philippines. Botanical Garden of Baguio

Igorot statues inside Botanical Garden, Baguio City, Philippines

Part 4 of Leonard Wood Baguio Tour
After staring at the windows of the famed haunted white house (or after the haunted white house stared at us), we finally decided to move on and walk a few more meters to Teachers’ Camp (just stopped for a while and took pictures but we didn’t manage to get inside as we didn’t have anything to do there). We then crossed a bridge and continued to walk until we reached the Botanical Garden. There are a group of Igorots in costume in front of Botanical Garden, so if you don’t want to miss the photo op with the Igorots (or if you want to be in Igorot costume), then go ahead and take a photo with them. There is a fee of Php 20 per shot, so if you are on a tight budget, just cross the road to the other side, zoom your DSLR and presto, you have it.
