The Baguio Cathedral

Baguio Cathedral

The church of Our Lady of the Atonement or commonly known as the Baguio Cathedral, is an old church constructed at the middle part of Session Road. It was established through a catholic mission by missionaries of CICM (Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae) from Belgium in 1907. The Baguio Cathedral became an evacuation center during the Second World War thus saving thousands of lives. Now, the Baguio Cathedral serves as a worship place for Christian communities living in Baguio City. Its preserved architecture also paved its way to becoming one of the must see landmarks of Baguio. It is also one of the many unique churches of the Philippines because of its distinct pinky rose color as an overall exterior design aside from its two towers which is similar to an old castle.

Baguio Day Tours (Destinations for Baguio Tour)

Baguio tour
Mines View Park--one of the many Baguio City tourist spots for an ideal Baguio tour.

Many people want to travel to Baguio and have their own Baguio tour but not everyone knows what exactly the Baguio tourist spots are and how to get there. Basically, people know that Burnham Park is located in Baguio but not all people know that Baguio Burnham Park is located near Session Road, or the bus terminal and they can actually do trips without riding a cab. People’s only resort to touring every Baguio tourist spot is hiring a cab and spend big bucks which they must not be spending. And for those who are on a tight budget, they limit the number of Baguio tourist destinations they visit. Again, if you are yet to plan your very own Baguio day tour (or day and night tours), you have to set this in mind—touring Baguio is NOT expensive (as to what other people know). From Manila excluding the round trip bus fare and accommodation, P1000 is already enough to visit most of the tourist attractions in Baguio plus eat at one of the best Baguio restaurants plus buy souvenirs and pasalubong for two persons!

How to Go to Baguio Tourist Spots: Leonard Wood

Part 5 of Leonard Wood Baguio Tour

How to Go to Baguio from Manila, Dagupan, Vigan or Olongapo:
That’s pretty easy. All you have to do is to ride in a bus bound to Baguio. Just be aware though that some bus lines have last trips prior to the trip. Victory Liner Bus last trip from Olongapo to Baguio is at 6 PM and Victory Liner Bus last trip from Dagupan to Baguio is at 6:30 PM. Van in Dagupan though has 10 PM as their last trip.

Botanical Garden of Baguio

Igorot statues inside Botanical Garden, Baguio City, Philippines

Part 4 of Leonard Wood Baguio Tour
After staring at the windows of the famed haunted white house (or after the haunted white house stared at us), we finally decided to move on and walk a few more meters to Teachers’ Camp (just stopped for a while and took pictures but we didn’t manage to get inside as we didn’t have anything to do there). We then crossed a bridge and continued to walk until we reached the Botanical Garden. There are a group of Igorots in costume in front of Botanical Garden, so if you don’t want to miss the photo op with the Igorots (or if you want to be in Igorot costume), then go ahead and take a photo with them. There is a fee of Php 20 per shot, so if you are on a tight budget, just cross the road to the other side, zoom your DSLR and presto, you have it.

Part 3 of Leonard Wood Baguio Tour
The sequence should be the other way around, the walk tour first then eat in a restaurant. But we didn’t actually plan to do the walk tour, that’s why eating in a restaurant came first.
